No, I am not the Christ. 아니요, 저는 그리스도가 아닙니다. (togetherness-theology)

Someone asks John. 
"Are you the Christ?"
But John replies. 
"No, I am not the Christ."

So many falsehoods in this world call themselves Christ; they call themselves the only true truth and true happiness. But John the Baptist flatly refuses. He says, I am not the Christ. 

I am not the Christ, or you are not the Christ, but maybe we are the Christ, insofar as we are hope for each other, insofar as each of us can lay aside our selfishness and give up a small part of ourselves for the sake of all. And maybe Jesus is the model for us of that very togetherness. We need to remember that togetherness now and figure out how to live it out in every moment. Give up my selfishness, and then we can be hope for each other.

[요한에게 묻습니다. 
"당신이 그리스도인가요?"
요한은 답합니다. 
"아닙니다. 저는 그리스도가 아닙니다."

거짓은 자기 자신을 그리스도라고 합니다. 자기만 유일한 참된 진리이며, 참된 행복이라 합니다.

세례자 요한은 단호히 거부합니다. 나는 그리스도가 아니라고 말입니다. 

나만 혹은 당신만 그리스도가 아니라, 어쩌면 서로에게 희망이 되어 더불어 있음이 우리 자신이 그리스도일지 모릅니다. 각자가 자기 이기심을 내려놓고 모두를 위해 자기를 위한 작은 부분을 포기할 수 있는 만큼 그만큼 우리는 그리스도일지 모릅니다.

예수는 바로 그 더불어 있음의 모범을 우리에게 보여주신 것일지 모릅니다. 우리는 지금 그 더불어 있음을 기억하고 매 순간 어떻게 더불어 살지 고민하고 고민해야 합니다. 나 하나를 위한 이기심을 내려두고 말입니다. 그때 우리는 서로가 서로에게 희망이 될 수 있습니다. ]
